How can I become a new customer?
Chicago Importing Company is wholesale only. Interested wholesale buyers are first required to fill out our Registration Form completely. Click here www.chicagoimporting.com/signup or select "Registration" in the upper right corner for access to this form. Note, we require new customers to pre-pay by credit card when placing their first order, or until terms are approved if requested.
What is your minimum order?
Our minimum order is $300 ($500 for Distributors).
How do you handle backorders?
Currently unavailable items will only be backordered at the customer request, with the exception of seasonal pre-ordered items.
Can I return something if it doesn’t sell?
We do not guarantee the sell-through of merchandise.
What happens if I have to cancel my pre-ordered holiday items?
Seasonal pre-orders may NOT be cancelled. The cancellation of Everyday orders will result in a 25% re-stocking fee. Special orders are non-refundable.

How can I find prices on your website?
You must have an account with Chicago Importing Company in order to be given access to our site. If you are already an account but need access, please contact Customer Service at (800) 828-7983. Due to the nature of the import business, prices are subject to change without prior notice.
Can I purchase one unit of an item?
Our products are sold by the case only and cannot be mixed or split up. Pack sizes are subject to change without prior notice.
What is the shelf life of the products?
Most products ship from our warehouse with well over 6 months remaining shelf life. We guarantee we will not ship product with less than 60 days (2 months) remaining shelf life.
Can I buy Liquor-Filled Chocolates?
Please check with the laws in your state before purchasing alcohol-filled products. It is unlawful to give alcohol to persons under the age of 21.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express & Discover credit cards. Terms are available for qualified customers. Please contact Customer Service for details.
What are your freight terms?
We primarily ship using FedEx Ground and the charges are prepaid and added to your invoice. For qualified customers, we offer a shipping incentive. Please contact Customer Service for details.
My item arrived damaged. What do I do?
Quality claims must be filed within 48 hours of delivery. Goods may not be returned, and invoice deductions may not be taken without prior authorization from Chicago Importing Company. Shipping claims must be filed within 48 hours of delivery. Claims must include a copy of the Bill of Lading with damages and discrepancies noted along with the driver’s signature. We require pictures and detailed information for all claims.
Why is there a charge for Expedited Shipping on some of my items?
To ensure that refrigerated and frozen fish, meat, cheese, and lefse does not thaw or spoil in transit, we ship these items via guaranteed overnight or second-day service at your expense. During warm weather, we ship chocolate products using this same expedited method to avoid melting. You may decline expedited shipping on Chocolate, but you accept full liability and we will not refund you for melted chocolate items shipped using traditional methods during warm weather. Expedited shipping cannot be declined on fish, meat, cheese, and lefse. Items affected by this policy are denoted with F, R, or W in our price lists and are identified on our website.
