ABOUT US
Chicago Importing Company® was founded in 1935 in Chicago's Fulton Market district. In 1996 Lars Berntson acquired the business and moved it to the suburbs. Today, we operate out of a 20,000 SF facility and sell to a wide range of independent retailers, chains and national distributors. We are proud members of the Specialty Food Assocation and theNational Candy Association. And locally, we support the Chicago chapter of the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce.

Backed by SQF Edition 9 Certification, we remain committed to the highest standards of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, while maintaining strong systems and delivering sasfe, reliable products every day.

OUR NICHE
We offer highly-sought Scandinavian and western European chocolates, candies, cookies, specialty foods and more. We are the exclusive distributor of many fine Nordic brands and are proud to offer our proprietary collections of gourmet specialties under Lars Own®, Nordic Sweets®, Nordic Goods™, Skansen®, Scandic®, Grandpa Lundquist®, and Hermann the German®.
