Chicago Importing Company was founded in 1935 in Chicago’s historic Fulton Market district. In 1996, Lars Berntson acquired the business and relocated operations to the suburbs. Today, we operate from a 20,000-square-foot facility.

We offer highly sought-after Scandinavian and Western European chocolates, candies, cookies, and specialty foods. We are the exclusive distributor of well-known brands including Daim (Sweden), Freia (Norway), Marabou (Sweden), Fazer (Finland), Hafi (Sweden), and Sirius (Iceland).

In addition, we proudly offer proprietary collections of gourmet specialties under the Lars Own®, Nordic Sweets®, Grandpa Lundquist®, Scandic® Swedish Cheeses, Nordic Goods™, Skansen® Seafood, and Hermann the German® brands.

Our SQF Edition 9 Certification reflects our commitment to the highest standards of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, and underscores our dedication to strong systems and delivering safe, reliable products.
