About Chicago Importing Company

Chicago Importing Company was founded in 1935 in Chicago’s historic Fulton Market district. In 1996 Lars Berntson acquired the business and moved it to the suburbs. Today, we operate out of a 20,000 SF facility complete with refrigerated and frozen storage.

We offer highly sought Scandinavian and western European chocolates, candies, cookies, cheeses, beverages, seafood, specialty foods and more. We’re the exclusive distributor of popular brands such as Daim (Sweden), Freia (Norway), Marabou (Sweden), Fazer (Finland), Hafi (Sweden), and Sirius (Iceland).

Also, we are proud to offer proprietary collections of gourmet specialties under the Lars Own®, Nordic Sweets®, Grandpa Lundquist®, Scandic® Swedish Cheeses, Nordic Goods™, Skansen® Seafood, and Hermann the German® brands.
